SEANCE

(1997, 20:00’ loop, projector, image wiper hardware)

The videographer's take on the tradition of spirit photography and other extrasensory phenomena. The oscillating metronomic arm of an image wiper creates the illusion of a screen, which is illuminated by the projected images of faces exhausted by the toils of a long race.

Short documentation from the exhibition "Alexander Hahn - Gesichtswahrnehmung" at the Kunstmuseum Bern/Switzerland, 1997. A revised version #II was shown at Centre PasquArt in Bienne/Switzerland in May 2010, as part of the traveling exhibition TIMELAPSE - in November 2009 hosted by the National Museum of China
